Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is a 5-star hotel which provides 315 room accommodation, a variety of food and beverage options and a functions & events solution for guests. To name a few F&B outlets: La Boca Restaurant and Bar specializing in Argentinean cuisine, AV8 Cafe and AV8 Sports Bar, 11 Function rooms - ideal for wide range of events from small meetings to 300 plus large conferences.

We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Executive Chef to lead the kitchen operations. 

This is a unique hands on position that is suitable for someone who is excited by the prospect of taking our established kitchen operations to the next level by achieving outstanding results while motivating and leading an exceptional team of qualified chefs and kitchen stewards.

Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager and as a key member of the management team, you will be accountable for the performance of Kitchen from finance to products and service perspective. As an Executive Chef you will be managing kitchen operation for our bar, restaurant, conference & events and room service.


Your main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Have creative control of menu planning
  • Oversee and mentor the brigade in all aspects of food preparation
  • Evaluate food products to ensure consistent quality standards and ensure exceptional food quality and presentation
  • Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff
  • Full management of costings and P&L


To be considered for this role you will be required to posses:

  • Experience in successfully managing the Kitchen operations of a multi-outlet hotel or similar sized operation
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage a wide diverse audience
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise your varying work load
  • A strong understanding of food cost, wastage, budgeting and manning
  • Thorough understanding around kitchen hygiene practices, environmental and food safety standards
  • Have demonstrated people management capabilities with the natural passion and desire to coach, mentor, grow and lead a diverse multicultural team
  • Lastly - a passion for everything food!!!
