About the Role 

We are currently seeking a professional Porter to join our Front Office team on a Casual basis. As part of the Concierge team you will be responsible for providing positive guest experiences through welcoming and assisting guests, explaining hotel facilities and anticipating guest needs. Your ability to be able to deal with various types of guests and being able to recognise their differing needs will stand you in good stead for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough knowledge of what to see and do around Brisbane as well as have the ability to organise events, tours, flights, transport, and restaurant bookings
  • Up sell and suggestive sell to enhance the guest’s experience
  • Be an ambassador of the hotel, take an active interest in the guests who visit our properties and show a willingness to complete all duties with absolute attention to detail
  • Presentation standards are impeccable and in accordance with organisational policy and guidelines
  • Assist guests with luggage and valet parking
  • Confident in dealing with high profile guests and their entourage
  • Confidentiality in dealing with guest information
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Be one step ahead of the guest, knowing what they need before having to ask
  • Always deliver exceptional 5 star customer service and ensure it is maintained throughout your team
  • Be extremely team orientated
  • Work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably within a 4 or 5 star environment
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and aspects of the Front Office Department
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide exceptional customer service to our guests
  • Experience using Opera property management system is desirable
  • Must be an Australian Resident or have the right to work full time
  • Must have a Full Drivers Licence, and be able to drive manual and automatic vehicles confidently
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20kg
